Well deserved honor for Hailey and Anjay.

Special recognition was given to seniors Hailey Goetz and Anjay Dhir during Montini Catholic's Founder's Day Award Ceremony on Friday, May 17th. The two seniors were awarded the Lasallian college preparatory high school's St. Pope Paul VI Award, presented to students who exhibit excellence in the areas of academics, extracurricular participation, service to school community, leadership and character.  Both Hailey and Anjay have been active Broncos throughout their four years at Montini.

Anjay, a graduate from Glenn Westlake Middle School, is an Illinois State Scholar, an AP Scholar as well as the Vice President of Montini's National Honor Society. He is also President of the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, PR Officer for the Tri-M Music Honor Society and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. Hailey, a graduate of St. Pius X Parish School, is also an AP Scholar. She is a member of Montini's National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She also served as Vice President of Montini's Student Government team. It was through her time on the Peer Ministry team that Hailey organized and ran Montini's successful 'shoe drive' in the fall of her junior year. In addition, Hailey joined the Spanish Club, Math Club and the Montini Maniacs (spirit) Club. Athletically, Hailey has been a four year member of Montini's Volleyball Team and was also voted by the student body to be a member of the 2023 Homecoming Court. Montini Catholic High School was established in the Diocese of Joliet in 1966 and named after the pope at that time - St. Pope Paul VI (Giovanni Battista Enrico Antonio Maria Montini), who was elected to the papacy in 1963. Faculty, students and staff at Montini Catholic celebrated Pope Paul VI's Beatification in 2015 and his Canonization in October of 2019.

Under the direction of Fine Arts Department Chair and Music Director, Donnie Glowinski and Art Teacher Christiana Blatchley, Montini Catholic students were invited to participate in the creation of a beautiful mosaic of the Lasallian college preparatory high school's founder, St. John Baptist De Lasalle. St. John Baptiste De Lasalle was designated the Patron Saint of teachers by the Catholic Church in 1950. The artistic endeavor was an activity created as a part of Montini's celebration of Belongingness Week (March 24-28, 2025). "Belongingness Week is designed to promote a sense of inclusion, connection, and community among students and throughout the school," said Principal Chris Tiritilli. "The purpose of this week is to enhance and emphasize an environment where each student feels known, accepted, valued and supported, regardless of their background, identity, or differences. During this week, we seek to provide several experiences and activities to celebrate the things that make us each unique and special, such as the backgrounds, experiences and traditions that we come from, all while also realizing that we come together and belong as one Montini community and family." Throughout the week, each department wwas asked to organize an activity to align with one of the three main goals of the week: Building Positive Relationships, Promoting Inclusion, Increasing Self-Esteem and Emotional Well-Being. The mural was a way for Montini students to come together through a fun and artistic activity. Each piece of the mosaic symbolized an individual, with its unique shape, color, and position contributing to the overall 'masterpiece.' The final piece will be unveiled during Montini's upcoming Mass to celebrate the Feast Day of St. John Baptist De Lasalle which is April 7th.
