Congratulations, Lily Spanos!

Congratulations to Montini Catholic senior Lily Spanos for earning the 2024 Weisenburger Family Scholarship The scholarship is awarded annually to a student at Montini Catholic High School who has expressed an interest in pursuing a degree in education. The award was presented by Andrew '05 and Wally Weisenburger '75 during Montini Catholic's annual Founder's Day Celebration on Friday, May 17th. Lily, Monitni's current Student Government president, was selected for her demonstration of outstanding leadership in the classroom as well as in extracurricular activities throughout her high school career as a Montini Bronco. 


Lily, a member of Montini Catholic's National Honor Society (inducted during her junior year). She was also inducted into Mu Alpha Theta (Math) Honors last year. She devotes her time to Montini's Peer Ministry Team, demonstrating a devotion to faith and leadership. Athletically, she is a member of the Lady Broncos Basketball and Golf teams and has earned Academic All Conference honors in both sports throughout her time as a Bronco.


The Weisenburger Family Scholarship is offered each year in gratitude for the transformative Lasallian education that was received by Cathy '70, Marc '71, Carolyn (Drengler) '72, Wally '75, Joe '78, Andrew '05 and Kimmy '07 Weisenburger. It was created to honor and remember Walter and Catherine Weisenburger who, as patriarchs of the family, recognized and valued Catholic education. "It is a special thank you for all they sacrificed to send all four of their children to Catholic schools," said Wally, who was formerly the Chairman of Montini's Board of Directors.   


Lily is a graduate of St. Petronille School and a parishioner at St. Petronille Parish. She is the daughter of Greg and Shannon Herold Spanos '99 .

Fifty Academic All Stars To Be Honored on May 1st

Montini Catholic High School in Lombard will roll out the red carpet on Thursday, May 1st to honor members from their Class of 2025 as Academic All Stars. Each year the Lasallian college preparatory school invites seniors who have excelled academically throughout their high school years to a celebratory banquet in their honor. A total of fifty seniors achieved the honor this year of being named a Montini Catholic Academic All Star which involves attaining a 3.95+ GPA and/or earning Illinois State Scholar status. 2025 Prom Court Announced!

The king and queen will be announced and crowned during the Lasallian college preparatory high school's Prom Night on Friday, April 25th. The evening, themed - The Roaring 2020s - will be held at Bolingbrook Country Club. Brothers Visit to Celebrate Founder's Feast Day

We were honored to be joined at Mass on Monday, April 7th 2025 by Father Jeff Stoneberg of Christ the King Parish and Brothers Rob Veselsky, Chuck Gregor, Joel McGraw, Richard Merkel, James Gaffney, Phil Jones, Brother Kotek, Dr. Steven Torres and Brother Br. Michael Fehrenbach (with Principal Chris Tiritilli (left) and President Kevin Beirne (far right)) to celebrate the Feast Day of our Founder St. John Baptist De LaSalle. Students commemorated the 306th Anniversary of St. John Baptist de La Salle, Patron Saint of Teachers and Founder of our Lasallian Mission. He was a man of deep prayer, unwavering faith, and boundless compassion, devoting his life to God through service and education. "St. John Baptist De Lasalle, pray for us. Live, Jesus, in our hearts, forever."
